Town Hall of Denver Lectures
Town Hall of Denver Lectures , founded by Denver's late, great, Polly Grimes has offered world-class public programming since 1954.Jean Hodges began working for Polly in 1974, to bring in a younger set of attendees. After working for Polly for 18 years, she purchased Polly Grimes Town Hall in 1992, five years prior to Polly's passing, and has directed each series every year. As a long-standing educational series in the Denver metropolitan area, we bring together thinkers, artists, historians, writers, business and non-for-profit leaders to explore the ideas and current situations both historically and in the future.
Why Our Lecture Series Matter
Public lectures and community education are more than events—they are a civic resource. The Town Hall of Denver Lectures advances civic dialogue, strengthens community ties, and promotes lifelong learning. In a world where information is abundant but context is rare, our live programs provide authoritative voices, careful moderation, and opportunities for direct engagement. We convene experts who translate complex topics into clear, actionable insights while creating spaces where diverse perspectives can be heard with respect.
Preserving a tradition that began in 1954, we continue to serve as a bridge between scholarship and the public. Our lectures provide historical context for current events, artistic frameworks for cultural understanding, and practical knowledge for Our speakers and moderators' development. Through moderated Q&A, curated reading lists, and post-event discussions, attendees leave equipped with tools to think critically, act responsibly, and participate more fully in community life.
